About Bloggers Meet Startups:

This is a networking event and an opportunity for open discussion. Startups and Bloggers are welcome to bring their best 60-second elevator pitch and everyone is invited to come up and talk about their projects. Everyone gets a chance (and encouraged) to pitch in sort of a speed networking fashion so bring your best pitch.

Featured projects have 5 minutes to pitch and can bring visual aids; handouts. To learn about how you can become a featured startup, visit our website: Featured Startup Request

This month’s featured Presenters and Projects:

David Zaretsky: is a social sharing platform that rewards publishers and content creators for the social value their content generates via advertisement revenue. When a visitor clicks on a snipped link, they are shown a full-page advertisement for several seconds before reaching the shared content. Publishers earn revenue from these paid ads shown to their visitors.

Derin Alemli is a jack of many trades who loves entrepreneurship, music, and creativity.  Derin received his BS in Finance from the University of Central Florida in 2005 before pursuing a career in hedge fund investments in Chicago with Grosvenor Capital Management, earning an MBA from the University of Chicago and a CFA charter in the process.  For the last year Derin has been headingDownBeats, a brand of high fidelity hearing protection for concert goers that is growing rapidly and is actively expanding through content marketing and a further developed product line.

Mike Kostyo began his career in politics and communications, but his passion has always been food, and after earning an MA in gastronomy he began working for a Chicago-based trend and market-research firm focusing on the foodservice industry. A food blogger himself, he is also the founder of Chicago Food Bloggers, a resource for and directory of Chicago-area food bloggers. The site helps readers find local food blogs, connects bloggers with brand partnerships and other opportunities, and serves as a hub for the area’s food blogging community.

Everyone is encouraged to network so bring plenty of business cards to pass and don’t forget to refer this event to a friend! Please, due to the space limitations, please only send one or two per startup.
